The temple, as we see it now was built from 1993 to 2004. It is restoration of the church that was built 1929, but was damaged in the Nazi bombardment of Banja Luka in 1941 and demolished by the command of the occupant reign of the Independent Republic of Croatia, at the time. Now, it represents one of the most beautiful and the biggest architectural accomplishments of the Ortodox temples at the territory of the Balkans.

Saoborne crkve "Svete Trojice" u centru grada je bio prvi veći graditeljski poduhvat u Banjaluci nakon Prvog svjetskog rata. Građena je na praznom prostoru ispred tadašnje kafane «Balkan» od 1925. godine. Projektovao ju je Dušan Živanović, arhitekta iz Beograda. Crkva je izrađena u srpskovizantijskom stilu, koji se kod nas javlja u arhitektonskoj praksi krajem XIX i početkom XX vijeka. Građevinski, crkva je završena 1929. godine, a enterijer je rađen poslije raspisanog jugoslovenskog konkursa, na kojem je nagradu dobio Grigorije Samojlov. Ukrašavanje unutrašnjosti crkve i izrada ikonostasa povjereni su Jovanu Bijeliću, Veljku Stanojeviću, Svetislavu Strali, Jaroslavu Kratini i Petru

Саборна црква Христа Спаситеља у Бањој Луци у центру Бање Луке се налази на мјесту и у истим димензијама гдје је првобитно био изграђен храм Свете Тројице, направљен између два свјетска рата. Изградња храма трајала је од 1925. до 1929, а свечано је освештана на Спасовдан 18. маја 1939. године. 5 minuta hoda od Extra Apartmana!
