This bright and cheerful church has a colorful history! Founded by three Dominican priests from Mexico, it was itself in 1822 the birthplace of A Abelha da China ("The China Bee"), the first foreign newspaper to published on Chinese soil. The church still plays an active role in local culture, with its bell tower modified to serve as home to the Museum of Sacred Art. The church is also included in the list of monuments in the Historic Centre of Macau, as inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. 這座巴洛克風格的教堂明麗耀眼，不但是城中的矚目地標，更是澳門的文化瑰寶。 這座富麗堂皇的教堂背後，有著一段豐富多彩的歷史。玫瑰堂由三位來自墨西哥的聖多明我會（道明會）教士創建，於1822年見證了中國本土第一份外文報紙《蜜蜂華報》（A Abelha da China）的誕生。時至今日，教堂的鐘樓已改作收藏珍貴文物的「聖物寶庫」，在傳承澳門文化中繼續擔任重要角色。玫瑰堂建築現已被劃入澳門歷史城區，並獲聯合國教科文組織列入《世界遺產名錄》。
