septiembre de 2019This space is a great value! Beach access was only one house away, and not very crowded even on Labor Day Weekend.
The house does need some repair work, most glaringly the water damage near the dining area (not present in photos). The water damage has also caused some mildew or possibly mold, which scared some in our party. If you have a sensitivity to mildew / mold, this may not be the space for you.
That said, the house is a really affordable option for a weekend at the beach!

agosto de 2019We arrived to find a broken picnic table (owner immediately responded that he would try to find a replacement but nothing ever came of it), blinds that looked as if they were chewed up by a dog in each guest bedroom, sand on sitting surfaces (owner said his housecleaning lady could come back next day but we got out the vacuum so we could just relax & unpack), after stocking the fridge there was confusion because the fridge didn't want to stay closed but that was user error, silverware were rusty plus some were dirty (bring your own), and when I also saw Sugar Ant Larvae in the corners of the ceilings & live ones all over dining room table and bar...I had enough and asked the owner for a discount on the cleaning fee.
My kids thought the ants were Red Ants and it scared them. We couldn't even eat at the table or at the bar because they were climbing onto our food when we tried to eat. I sent owner pics of everything as it was found. Owner responded after all was texted bit by bit by claiming I was making things up...even after he saw the pictures and had been understanding.
When my husband found the garage unlocked, he got a couple simple tools to fix the picnic table and pound down some nails that were sticking up on the porch so our kids would not get hurt and we could finally relax (after vacuuming, etc). Owner must live nearby because he texted us that the garage was not part of the rental. He finished fixing the picnic table (which eventually broke again and had before because the wood is rotten) and closed up the garage.
Overall, the location is great value for the money but I don't appreciate the host's rudeness (especially since I am not the first to complain about the cleanliness). I took video of how we left the home (since the last lady who complained of cleanliness was called 'a few four letter words' from his housecleaner because the renter supposedly left the house dirty.
