The tour was wonderful and our guide Ray was very kind and knowledgeable! I would recommend this tour for a comprehensive day trip. Our tour guide was also very helpful in providing information on other longer tours we could go on.

Interesting experience for those interested in shamanism and the shamanic culture of Mongolia. There are a few things to bear in mind, however. Firstly, a few days before the scheduled ceremony, the host tried to persuade me to postpone to another day despite booking more than a month in advance. I am happy to be flexible but changing the date wasn’t possible for me as I already had excursions to rural Mongolia booked for the following day. After I stood my ground, I heard nothing from them for nearly 48 hours and I didn’t know whether or not they were going to cancel. This meant that I wasn’t able to book an alternative ceremony using another guide because I was left in limbo, not knowing whether the ceremony would be cancelled or not. The day before the ceremony I was finally told it would be taking place and that I had to bring gifts for the shaman’s kids and a tip for the shaman. This is totally fine but extra expenses should be clearly communicated in the experience description.

Highly recommend. The host picked me up directly from the hotel, and I got to see all there is to see in Terelj, which is very beautiful, and also riding the horse was a very good experience
