The historical Charlemont House (1908) is home to The Dublin City Gallery also known as the Hugh Lane after the Irish born art collector. He left two wills one bequeathing his entire collection firstly to the National Gallery in London and later to The Dublin City Gallery. So what this means to us is that 4 of its 8 masterpieces are in Dublin until 2021 : Les Parapluies by Renoir Eva Gonzales by Manet Jour d ete by Morisot and View of Louveciennes by Picasso Unmissable also are the bejeweled Harry Clarke Stained glass window display and the entire chaotic studio of Francis Bacon exactly as he left it.

The Francis Bacon Studio is mesmerising.

Free entrance. Hidden away in the north side of the city center this museum holds some real masterpieces. Definitely worth a visit
