The Waterford Greenway was opened in 2017, it provides 46km of glorious car-free pathway stretching all the way from historic Waterford City to the beautiful sea-side town of Dungarvan in west Co. Waterford. The Comeragh Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to a breathtaking journey across eleven bridges, three viaducts, through a 400m-long tunnel, along the lush banks of the River Suir, all the way to the scalloped beaches of Waterford’s famed Copper Coast. 40 Minutes drive from Hunters Lodge.

The famous Waterford Greenway is located between Waterford and Dungarvan with some spectacular scenic views along the 50km walkway cycle way. There is numerous access points along the whole route. From our cottage the 4 nearest points to gain access are Bilberry in Waterford City, W.I.T complex, Killottern and Kilmeaden which also has the Suir Valley railway with brings u along the old train tracks running parallel the greenway on an old steam train.

Hire a bike in the city centre or at WIT arena and cycle the 45 km route to Dungarvan. Stop off along the way at Mt. Congreve garden or Kilmeadan train station for refreshments. Kilmacthomas is the halfway point where you can stop for lunch in the Coach House cafe on the Greenway or you can take a detour into the village where there are a number of cafes.
