If you're up for a semi-strenuous 3.2 mile round-trip hike with amazing views, you will enjoy this one. As you climb the 2100ft mountain, there are a few steep sections and some chains to support you along the way. Picacho is about a 30 minute drive north of Tucson. There's a visitor center at the bottom as well.

Close to the ostrich farm, if you can stop by both places for the day.

There are five trails in the park from easy and suitable for children to difficult. Hunter Trail that goes to the top of Picacho Peak is difficult, but fun and very scenic! Be careful hiking in the summer.

The location of the only civil war battle in Arizona. I believe it involved about twenty fighters. There are places to stop for gas and a DQ and there is an ostrich farm just south that can be fun.

A hike to the top is rewarded with terrific views!! Make sure to bring enough water and sunscreen. Hike not recommended for beginners . Great place Fall thru Spring.
