There’s a cool energy here—especially at night. You can’t run at a fast pace because there are so many people out by the water, but if you start at République and go up to Quai de Jemmapes, past Jaurès, and further north to the Bassin de la Villette, it’s a fun run with an inspiring vibe. After your run, go for a drink at Le Pachyderme on Boulevard Saint-Martin in the evening, or for a croissant at Liberté in the morning. You will have earned it!

Canal Saint-Martin is a trendy area that's mostly known for its waterway. If you’ve seen Amelie, a Jean-Pierre Jeunet film, then you’ve seen the iron footbridge and shaded quays of the canal. The best way to experience it is on a boat ride. If you want to do what the locals do, you can have a picnic near the bank or head to a bistro called Hotel du Nord. It has become a local favourite ever since it appeared in Marcel Carne’s 1938 film. The canal is lined with internationally acclaimed and up-and-coming French designers. Further down the canal, you’ll find a creative workshop called Make My Lemonade, where you can learn how to sew and design your own clothes.

Small stroll along the St Martin canal, you can find pubs / bars in the area. Special dedication to the Japanese restaurant: SISENG, a fusion restaurant, taste their 5 spice beef baoburger, and their sweet potato "fries" with sesame sauce. ( call them to check if there are opened) You will not be far from Place de la République
