This is my favorite rooftop in the NYC year round w/a view of the empire state building (there is a retractable roof). Amazing cocktails and it has a DJ on weekend nights. Just a heads up that the rooftop gets booked a lot for private parties in the summer time so I'd call ahead and ask if it's available.

If you really want to experience NYC in the summer, you must visit a rooftop bar. Refinery Rooftop provides upscale drinks with views of Empire State Building, but more intimate than the better known 230 5th Ave rooftop.

Good rooftop bar close by. The hotel also has a good lobby bar for cocktails
