The Vaima source is located 11.7 km from Villa ManaOra, and legend has it that this inexhaustible source draws its energy and strength from the royal eel of Lake Vaihiria, Faaravaianuu, which purifies the water arriving at the source. This clear and invigorating water would be a source of healing. Before, it was coveted for its benefits. Today, the Vaima spring is a place where families or friends meet for a moment of freshness in the clear water of the spring. It is a peaceful place where eels and bathers mix naturally PS: eels love bread and the little snack "Ô TUMU MAPE" under the trees on the other side of the road is very very good (open from Wednesday to Sunday)!

Vaima (vai : eau, ma : pure, claire) est située dans la commune de Mataiea à quelques mètres de la route de ceinture. C’est une rivière millénaire, qui a voyagé sous terre, du mythique lac Vaihiria jusqu’au petit bassin si fréquenté par des Polynésiens de tout âge : La rivière Vaima fait partie de la vie des habitants de Mataiea mais aussi de celles des nombreuses personnes ou de randonneurs venus s’y rafraîchir après une longue marche.
