Breathtaking views of "Hawaii's Grand Canyon" with camping, hiking trails and access to the Napali Cliffs Overlook trails.
It's called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific for a reason. Several hikes end on the road to Kalalau Lookout and Waipio Falls Trail. Our favorite is the last lookout Pu’u O Kila Lookout which gives you great views of the Kalalau valley.
One of the most beautiful views of the canyon seen only when weather permits. Please check weather before going because the view can be obstructed on cloudy days.
Fun way to see the whole island! If you do this, plan for a full day in the car!
Over thousands of years of plentiful rainfall, water has eroded this mountain chain, exposed its reddish soil and created the Waimea River to keep things at a constant flow. It’s hard to believe such a thing exists on a relatively small and tropical island, that is until you see it with your own eyes.
