It's a beautiful monastery of 16th century. An example of Portuguese historic legacy of Vasco da Gama's discovery of the maritime route to India. It was classified as World Heritage Monument!

Mosterio dos Jerónimos is a Manueline monastery, monumental testimony of the richness of the Portuguese Discoveries. It is located in Belém, Lisbon, at the entrance of the Tagus river.

In this manueline 15th century monastery are buried the explorer and navigator Vasco da Gama and the poet Luis de Camoes. The impressive vaulted ceilings are worth appreciating. (Tram: 15 towards Algés and get off at Jerónimos)
