Celestun has beautiful, quiet beaches with seafood restaurants right on the sand, though it’s better known for the Ria Celestun Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll see the large flock of Celestun flamingos and the other birds that call this part of Mexico home.

Celestun is a sleepy fishing town on the western side of the Yucatan peninsula. The real draw to Celestun beach is the eco-tour boat trip through the Reserva de la Biosfera Ría Celestun. This is where you can find thousands of wild flamingos that tend to flock here in the winter months and into the spring.
