Less expensive, less touristic , but same iconic restaurant like the Gundel. Same kitchen, same chef.

Family restaurant for local pork & beef dishes, in a century-old wooden house with dark beams. Children & vegan friendly too.

If you're not in the mood for the pricey Gundel then visit her little sister the Bagolyvár or Owls castle. Excellent food and service, a nice way to wrap up an evening after a visit to the Széchényi.
