Old Caravanserai in the heart of the old city, beautiful ambience, traditional food.

This historic two-storey caravanserai wraps its alcoved stone walls around a coverable courtyard featuring two dwarf fig trees and a trickling fountain. It's a quintessential Baku experience that's very photogenic, and the Azerbaijani food is good. However, prices are steep and this is a place that's squarely aimed at feasting groups rather than individuals or couples. Some evenings from 8pm there's a dinner show that might be wailing Muğam music or an impressive cabaret showcasing various Caucasian musical and dance styles (more often at weekends). Either way, expect it to add 15% to your bill. The whole restaurant is not infrequently closed for private functions
