Great views of York (and into some really attractive gardens). The best section is entering via Monk Bar (bottom of Bootham) and leaving at Goodramgate, or vice versa. Free and no booking, but check opening hours for access.

York’s City Walls are FREE. They are open to walk on from about 8.00am to dusk daily (except when wintry conditions make them too dangerous) You can book guided tours or explore at your own leisure. More information can be found at York Tourist Information Centre on 1 Museum Street, York.

5 minute walk to start the famous and scenic York walls. Perfect to enjoy great views over the city.

The walls are free to walk on and they are beautiful. Especially around Monkgate and Walmgate.
