I like to go here early in the morning before town even opens and watch town come alive. If I need to do any tourist shopping I get it done before 10 AM and can hit a beach before 11

Walk down to Bumpa's and grab breakfast while you're waiting for the ferry to St. John. It comes into the harbor right across the street.
