About 17km away from Ninh Binh to the Northwest. Van Long is the largest wetland Reserve covering an area of nearly 3000 hectares. Van Long is home to a rich fauna and flora, particularly, a habitat of the largest number of white-hipped langurs (Delacour’s langur), … One of the last real natural treasures in Ninh Binh, Van Long, little spoiled by the influences of tourism is worth exploring nature and agritourismin the North of Viet Nam. Van Long is a land full of mysteries, is an ideal home for plants and aniamals. It is home to 457 species of higher plants, including eight species listed in Red Book of Viet Nam. It comprote 39 species of animals including 12 species are rare and precious as: primates, lorises, chamois, bears, etc., and especially the famous monkey pants leg. A poetic picture unfolds before your eyes: the mountains kiss the clouds, reflecting in the water surface forming a spectacle neither real nor imaginary. Purpose of the mountains Quan, Nghien, Trong interned with green trees whose leaves feed the monkeys in pants leg. Those animals that do vivrent in these mountainous areas and in the Cuc Phuong National Park. During the day, we can see down to eat or drink. The boat glides over the carpet of algae preserved. Set amid glorious limestone pinnacles, this tranquil reserve comprises a reedy wetland that’s popular with bird-watchers. Among the bird species that have been spotted here are the rare black-faced spoonbill, cotton pygmy goose and white-browed crake. Van Long is also one of the last wild refuges of the endangered Delacour’s langur, partly because the wetlands keep predators and poachers at bay. Langurs are not easy to spot; try your luck early in the morning or in the evening.
