You can access the bird sanctuary from the Five Mile Point car park. The path is beautiful and secluded winding past wetlands, forest to boardwalks to access the bird hides. Look out for pony’s otters, deer and of course the birds. Don’t forget to pack some coffee for when you get to the hide. The exit is through the north main entrance, then walk back along the beach. In the winter the access is through the main entrance on the Sea Road. It is well worth a visit.

Very peaceful, go early in the morning or late evening ..well worth walking on the long path parallel to train tracks and the turning into forest for the board walk forest experience. Bring your camera and binoculars. Three or more covered hides with infograph of bird visitors to this region.
