This beach is adjacent to the Wild Tule Elk reserve at Tomales Point. It requires a bit of walking to reach from the parking lot but is generally less crowded and has expansive views.

A family favorite. Park along Pierce Point Rd and walk down the trail to the wide open beach (that's usually empty). The water is cold and rough, so don't expect to get in. Go in late winter to spring for a beautiful wildflower show. Stop in Point Reyes Station or Inverness to pickup lunch on your drive in.

Best beach in Marin to get away from civilization

Another nice beach to visit, with a short hike from the road. Look for the red-tail hawks nesting by the cliffs to the north of the trail head and the owls that live in the big tree right by trail entrance at the road!

Parking lot is just below Pierce Point Ranch. The beach is a 1.25 mile hike down a mostly maintained trail but do not try to bring a stroller. It's definitely worth the hike.
