The village of Mola is characterized by the mighty cylindrical tower called "Torre di Mola" (residual, along with a few other structures, of the late medieval castle, which was almost completely destroyed by the bombings of the Second World War). Next to the castle stood the church with a double aisle of Saints Lorenzo and Giovanni which housed a canvas by Antoniazzo Romano, saved and recently restored and kept in the new Church of San Giovanni Battista. The village dresses up for a party, on June 24th, for the solemn procession of Saint John and, in the month of August, for the right recognition to San Lorenzo, protector of Mola even before the cult for the Baptist took root.

Da non perdere durante il vostro soggiorno è una visita alla Torre di Mola attualmente sede del piccolo Archivio Storico del Comune di Formia. La storia del castello risale al 1200, quando Carlo II d'Angiò fortificò Gaeta e l'avamposto di Mola. Singolare è la Torre-mastio, cilindrica di m. 27 di altezza, elevata sul resto del fabbricato. Notevole è il portale d'ingresso, di probabile disegno di Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane
