365 acres criss-crossed by paths and linking with the Tarka Trail and the town of Great Torrington. In the summer you can get ice-cream from Hockings ice cream which is a family business since 1936. There is a food van which is very popular.

Good for walking and sits on the Tarka Trail. Free parking. Play area for children and a very good snack van for hot food and drinks at car park. Just a short walk from the centre of Torrington.

Accessed from the A386, there is plenty of parking available near ‘Greedy’s’ snack bar (popular with motorcyclists). There are public toilets available. There are plenty of pathways to explore, including: a small stream, a wildflower meadow, part of the Rolle Canal, some open areas and some shaded parts in the woods.

Beautiful walks. Stop off in Torrington square grab a pasty from sandfords bakery and enjoy a walk.

Torrington Commons is where I take my children and dogs when I want to get out in nature, splash in some streams and finish up with a play in the "castle park" and a Hocking's ice cream. You park at the commons (free) car park and walk down the fields/meadow and into the forest, hwere there are winding paths through the trees. There are river swings hidden around the place, although they constantly move, so keep your eyes peeled!
