Eaglecrest Ski Area, is a great place to ski during the winter months, in Southeast Alaska. Number of trails: 37 Vertical: 1620 feet Top elevation: 2750 Snowfall: 350 inches Base elevation: 1130 feet Longest run: 2 miles

Eaglecrest has excellent skiing in the winter and trails to hike and mountain bike in the summer months.

Our local ski area is small but mighty, grooming a former Olympian and numerous pro snowboarders. It is also a great summer recreation area.

Most people don't think to go to Eaglecrest Ski Area in the summer, and those people are missing out! The ski area is beautiful without all the snow, with lush green foliage and an abundance of wildflowers. The hike, which zigzags up and down the mountain, is pretty lengthy and also quite the work out, so we recommend carving out a big chunk of time if you're interested in doing the whole thing.
