This a very large area and it's fantastic for a walk or for sunbathing. It also bears historical meaning because it was the hunting ground of the Medici family and many monuments still can be seen.
The Cascine Park, also called Le Cascine more commonly, is the largest public park in Florence (160 hectares); it has the shape of a flat strip of land almost 3.5 kilometers long and no more than 640 meters wide, which runs along the right bank of the Arno, from the historic center, to the confluence of the river with the Mugnone stream.
