Beautifully renovated cottage in the heart of a thriving yet peaceful village on the edge of the Lake District, close to the northern fells. Within walking distance of a village pub, shop, cafes and gift shop. Caldbeck is situated on the fifth and final section of the Cumbria Way. The cottage is perfect for walkers and non-walkers as there is plenty to do around the area. If you are bringing your dog, please make sure you include them in your booking as there is a charge to bring a pet.

The house is situated in a quiet neighbourhood with easy access to the North Western, Northern and Western Fells. Two Wainwrights are walkable from the door, and the Buttermere valley is a picturesque 20-minute drive away. Local amenities are also easily accessed via a riverside walk, and the town offers a wide range of pubs and restaurants with local ales and excellent dining.

Set within the lake district national park,the cottage is in a quiet courtyard around the back of a busy working farm with an onsite shed selling eggs,bacon and sausage all produced on the farm. It is the ideal location for walking the Northern Wainwrights and close to many of the lakes Bassenthwaite,Derwentwater and Buttermere all just a short drive from the cottage

The Old Map Shop

The Old Map Shop was originally part of the village school. In more recent times it was a map shop, but then lay empty for a number of years before it was sensitively converted into a holiday property in 2020 - 2021. Caldbeck has a pub, cafes and a few shops. It is a great base for exploring the northern fells or for a stop on the Cumbria Way.
