Utopia is a nature estate, and just like you are escaping the city, so are your neighbours, so there is a ZERO Noise tolerance. Also after recent fires, we are very sensitive to fire-risk. No open fires or unattended fires; no smoking inside or discarded cigarette butts. Any violation of these rules will incur a fine.

'Off the grid' means NO electricity, bringing you closer to nature, away from urban conveniences like TV, microwave, hairdryers. The fridge, freezer, stove and geyser operate from gas, with limited light from solar lamps. There is power and charging facilities at the Restaurant

It's usually hot, sometimes extremely hot! The wind can come up in minutes, or the rain may roll in. Some evenings are cooler than others, and a chill may arise from nowhere - unless of course it's Winter ;-)

No visit to Utopia is complete without enjoying at least one of our five short and easy walks. Utopia is unique in the way that just a few hundred metres takes you from one mini ecosystem to another; from rocky to riverine, from open grassland to woodland. Together the five walks make up one complete circuit of Utopia (7km) which you could complete in about 2 hours.

If you're more adventurous, exploring the magnificent Tonquani Gorge requires a Day Pass. Preferably experienced hikers, No under-12's. NOTE: MCSA Office hours are limited, so min 48hrs notice required.

Don't feed, encourage, challenge or hurt them. They can be cheeky and try to steal your food! Close unattended doors and windows, especially if you go outside or leave the chalet.

In nature, you co-habit with some smaller creatures and arachnids ... We have a few geckos, and maybe a spider or two - mostly harmless. There's a chance you could also come across a snake or scorpion. Just be conscious, and if you do have an encounter, just move away slowly, or call us to help you.
