If you feel very adventurous, just leave your car in garage, pick up a bike and ride the Lake Shore Bike trail all the way to downtown Chicago, enjoying the beautiful scenery. If you feel less adventures but still would like to enjoy beautiful scenery, you can do it by taking a train. Metra can get you downtown Chicago in less than 45 min. and the stop is within walking distance.

Downtown Highland Park, Highwood, + the beach are just a walk away. There's access to grocery stores, restaurants, and shops, and you can retreat to the quiet of your studio when you're ready to unwind. Ps. For the winter months: We've got heated floors.

This charming guesthouse in Lake Forest is only steps away from beautiful Market Square — the historic retail center of the community. Outside, it has a vintage (ie. older) porch/breezeway with classic outdoor games. Walk to two grocery stores, bars/restaurants and our historic train station that connects to Chicago and various corporate shuttles.

Charming home in Highland Park. The space is my in-law suite which is in the lower level of my home and has its own full size kitchen and bathroom. I live up-stairs with my 3 small dogs so I will be available if you need anything during your stay. The in-law suite is set up like a studio and has ONE queen bed, a separate closet area and laundry. Please note- the suite is in the basement (stairs), but there is natural light. You have use of the deck/yard if desired. No stays over 3 weeks.

This upper unit Apartment is a spacious 1,100 square feet, lovingly restored with a vintage aesthetic in 2018. The private entrance to "The Apartment" will lead you to; 2 cozy bedrooms & 1 vintage inspired yet modern bath with walk in shower. A large living room, dining area and bright clean kitchen will make you feel right at home. 9 foot ceilings and tons of natural light through out.

There's a special price for Feb! Check it out! This special place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. The property is nextdoor to South Park with tennis, pickelball, baseball and basketball courts. The bike path to uptown is directly behind the house. It does back up to the train you can take to downtown Chicago, just 30 minutes away. 1 Mile from uptown Lake Forest. It has a unique charm having been built in 1920. There's only one toilet.

We have a cozy one bedroom apartment that is available on the top floor of the home and has its own independent and separate entrance! Comes with free parking on premises; recently renovated; neighborhood is safe and quiet. Shopping center with grocery store, laundry mat and restaurant is available within walking distance! We are only 5 minutes from the expressway I-88 and 10 minutes from Naperville and the outlet mall in Aurora!

Home Sweet Home is located 35 miles north of Chicago; 53 miles south of Milwaukee, WI; and just 4 miles east of Great Lakes Naval Base. Chicago is a 45-minute train ride away.
