There is a large studio room with newly renovated separate kitchen and ensuite shower room. Furniture is period in style, reflecting that the property dates from early 1900's. There is a small patio with table and chairs outside. Walks from the door include up White Moss Common, to Rydal Caves and down to Grasmere lake and Dove Cottage.

We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

We have incredible views over Lake Windermere (100 yards from the house), and there is easy access to the lake, woods and fells . In addition, Waterhead and Ambleside are within easy walking distance, and we are more or less central for visits to other parts of the Lake District by car.
