Historic Places Trust in coastal Maori village

Te Poutapeta is a Historic Places Trust listed building. Up until the 1980s it served as the community Post Office. Our family run it as a B&B or Holiday House. Guests have the entire house at their disposable. We provide continental breakfast. The Post Office is a one minute walk to our long and expansive beach. You’ll love our Poutapeta for its history, spaciousness and comfort. We have attempted to retain its origingal character. It is relaxing and unspoilt. Nau mai, haramai!

My place is close to beaches, bush and the famous Motu cycle way. You’ll love my place because of the friendly welcome, the little extras AND the comfy bed!! Only 2 hours driving from either Tauranga, Rotorua or Gisborne - a good resting point. Lovely quiet cottage set on lifestyle block with many chickens and sheep. 3 minutes driving to fabulous Waiotahi beach and only 10 minutes into Opotiki for cafes and shopping. 2 bedroom fully self contained flat with full kitchen. Like most places in Gisborne, we are less than a 5 minute drive to beaches, town and restaurants. Walking distance to hospital. Super comfy queen bed in master bedroom and 2 singles in second bedroom. We are down a long driveway on a back section so the space is private and secure. On site parking is available at the door with plenty of room for a trailer. There is ample off street parking.

Our place is built behind an historic building, only metres from the beautiful Tokomaru Bay Beach and 100 metres walk to Pakirikiri Marae.The facilities are all modern, with heat pump/air conditioning, acomodating 4 people with style, comfort and ease. One queen bed is in the lounge as a pull down/retractable and the second in a separate bedroom. Shower and toilet is an ensuite shared by all guests but accessed through the bedroom.

Gisborne Dream Suite

The guest suite in the front of our character bungalow is centrally located to Gisborne town with its local eateries and beautiful beaches. Easy walking distance to the Tairawhiti Museum and the Saturday Farmers Market. It has its own separate entrance for you to come and go freely as you explore the Tairawhiti Region. We have created this little haven for wanderers, travellers and whānau (families) who want to enjoy the East Coast.

The Studio

Welcome to my secluded, peaceful hideaway. The studio is a large open plan space. Large sliding doors completely open up the front of the building onto the deck, giving you a feeling of always being close to nature. Surrounded by trees, orchard, lawn and garden, the studio is a quiet retreat space. The sound of the sea and bird song are always in the background. The best beach in NZ is a 15 minute walk away!
