Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". Exposed stone walls, (gas) wood burner, open plan lounge (with double sofa bed) kitchen/dining with window seat in Harris Tweed to watch the world go by. Our modern Chalet sits in the Haven Resort at Seton Sands in a quiet discrete spot, very close to reception and all the amenities. There is a double bedroom with ensuite and two twin bedrooms. We have a large lounge area with comfortable seating for up to 6 people. There is free parking and a local bus service going right to the heart of Edinburgh. Passes can be purchased to use all the facilities of the Haven Resort, including swimming pools, restaurants and bars. Free wifi within the resort.

Dating back to 1909, and only 9 miles from Edinburgh, this cosy 2 bedroom fisherman's flat has spectacular far-reaching sea views. A perfect base for golfers, families and walkers. Similar to other small fishing villages on the east coast of Scotland, fishing boats still work out of the harbour and can often been seen bringing back the catch from the windows of the flat. Restaurants, pubs, and a supermarket are within walking distance and buses regularly go into Edinburgh from the village.

The tower is located in the historic town of Dalkeith and the settlement of Eskbank. 20 minutes by car from Edinburgh airport. A bus service into Edinburgh stops every 10- 15 minutes, the bus stop is a 2 minute walk away. 25 minutes by rail to the Scottish Borders or to the centre of Edinburgh from the local Eskbank Train Station, a 20 minute walk from the tower.
