Lovely, intimate French restaurant on the west side. The chef is insane (in a good way), the owner Sima is fabulous, and the pork shoulder is to die for.

Great BBQ with locations in Sylvan Park, 12 South & East Nashville. The pulled pork is fantastic, the brisket tacos are a delicious lunch special. They also make fantastic cocktails and have a very nice patio/deck with indoor/outdoor bar.

Traditional Naples style pizza in a very cool neighborhood. This building was an old warehouse converted into restaurants, bars, shops and art studios. Lovely patio in the shade and excellent pizza.

Garlic noodles are great comfort food, and of course excellent ramen. Cocktails are also killer. They don't take reservations. Great for sharing. Pricey.

Vanderbilt’s campus is really beautiful to walk around (it’s literally across the street from the apartment!) and is a national arboretum, so every tree that grows naturally in Tennessee is represented on campus.

I like jogging in centennial park, where there’s a full-size exact replica of the Parthenon which was built for the World Fair at the turn of the century, and a mile long trail with nice ponds and gardens.

There are lots of famous bars downtown on Broadway, and although I don’t spend much time on broadway anymore I think the Dueling Piano Bar and ACME feed and seed are pretty fun. I recently went to George Jones rooftop bar and it was great, with an excellent view.

The Santa Fe cornmeal pancakes with jalapenos and bacon sounds weird but is very good, and their classic pancakes are also great. There will be a line but it moves fast! I recommend getting there very early.
