One of America's first free libraries, the Enoch Pratt Free Library system dates to 1886 and this central branch dates to the 1930s. Check out the giant chess set on the main floor, the archives on the upper floors, and the Children's Room in the basement with a fish pond and free programs.

While one of the country's oldest libraries, the main location is more than up-to-date offering eBooks and audiobooks in addition to the traditional variety.
