The Buttery is one of the most well known restaurants in Scotland - a real Glaswegian institution! We took over in 2007 to create Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery. 10 minute walk from our Hyndland home.

The Buttery is one of Glasgow’s oldest restaurants and was restored to its former glory after a fire. The original Finnieston foodie haunt, walking through the door of The Buttery feels like heading into a different era. It has the feel of a 1930s Scottish film set, all wooden panelling, vintage table decorations and intriguing artwork. And despite the white tablecloths, tartan and the waiting staff’s kilts, The Buttery oozes a refined calm and warmth. Thankfully the food matches the beautiful surroundings; the best Scottish seafood cooked with precision.

Two Fat Ladies in the West End of Glasgow is part of one of the most celebrated seafood restaurants in the city. First opening in 1989, the menu serves a wide selection of well-balanced dishes which include roast salmon which comes atop a tomato risotto. The daily-changing platter allows three different catches to be sampled and desserts such as the glazed lemon tart with crème fraîche sorbet or the peach and apricot crumble with vanilla ice cream are a popular choice.

Fantastic genuine scottish high class restaurant. The buttery is a long established restaurant in Glasgow and deserves its reputation as one of the best the city has to offer.

This legendary restaurant is only 5 minutes walk from the flat. Great for a celebratory meal to experience excellent Scottish food and hospitality
