Great hiking and good place to catch the sunrise. The weather there can be rainy. I highly recommend booking 2 days in a row if you want to catch the sunrise. If one doesn't work out, the other day might. Dress in layers and be prepared for 40 degrees.

Early morning sunrise is spectacular. Dress in layers as it can be cold and then warm.

Makes for a very early day, but if you can get up early enough to be at the summit before sunrise it will be one of the most beautiful and memorable sites you will ever see. Make sure you look online to reserve your extremely cheap parking permit if you are not part of a tour. They also have bike riding experiences down the mountain if looking for something more.

Haleakala National Park needs no introduction. A fantastic place for short hikes, long hikes, sight seeing with the family, or even a downhill mountain bike ride (as show in the photo here). Pookela Paradise is perfectly located with only a 35 minute drive to the park gate.
