Wonderfully unique place to go! Be careful of the tides so you don't get caught out!

"Classic Kernow. An awe-inspiring monastery set on an island that is only accessible at low tide. Part of the national trust, it's well worth a visit for it's incredible architecture, beautiful gardens and stunning views. You'll have to pre-book if you want to get onto the island. However, if you didn't fancy the tour you can still drive to Marazion, park the car and take some photo's. You're allowed to walk along the slipway at low tide without a ticket. It's only 15 minutes away so it's an easy one to tick off the list. I've spent many an evening, eating fish and chips on the sea wall with St Michael's Mount in the background...it's the perfect way to end the day."

For a truly fascinating day out, visit St Michael’s Mount, a tiny island accessible only at low tide. You’ll find a medieval castle, a working harbour and a thriving village of just 30 inhabitants. The island has consequently inspired numerous storytellers through the ages. With legends of magic, myth, giants and mermaids that are sure to amaze young minds. The mount has also been used as a filming location for numerous productions. Thanks to its wild, remote and breathtaking beauty. Definitely one of the best things to do in Cornwall with kids. Visitors can wander the century-old corridors of the castle and its colourful gardens, before stopping for some amazing food at The Sail Loft or The Island Café.

Check the tide times before visiting to see if you can walk over the causeway or will need to take the boat. If you're keen to visit the garden on the Mount then check whether it's open on the day of your planned visit.
