If you need grocery shopping, this is the closest Walmart. It's the largest in Costa Rica, it basically has everything you might need. There's also a food court inside, pharmacy and more.

HUGE, enormous hyper-market! Anything you need from toiletries to a fridge! OH! make sure you take the pedestrian bridge to cross! Don't try to cross the ring road!

There are two Walmart's in Heredia, both of them located at a 10-minute drive from AltaVista. Very convenient prices and variety.
