The best way to get to this Famous Five uninhabited island is by a small ferry boat running from Balmaha Boatyard. Cruise Loch Lomond also runs three trips to the island per day and can be boarded from Luss. Book your tickets in advance. We like going from Balmaha because you are often the only people on the little boat and it doesn’t take long to get over to the island. If you get the little boat you walk about twenty mins across the island and onto the beautiful beach where you can enjoy some wild swimming. You can also walk up the hill on the island and visit the old graveyard. See www.see Loch Lomond.co.uk for more info but this is a trip not to miss. There is a compost toilet on the island. We always eat in Balmaha when we get off the boat The restaurant is called The Oak Tree. it serves Scottish food and drink - very good www.theoaktreeinn.co.uk
