The Archeological Park of the “Città del Tufo” showcases the large historical and cultural heritage that exists in the territories of Sovana, Sorano and Vitozza, the so-called tuff areas: a landscape that has remained unaltered throughout history and characterized by the volcanic rock that lends its name to the park. Der Archäologische Park der Città del Tufo vereint das große historische und kulturelle Erbe der Gebiete Sovana, Sorano und Vitozza, das sogenannte Tuffsteingebiet, eine faszinierende Landschaft, die von dem vulkanischen Gestein geprägt ist, das dem Park seinen Namen gibt. Ein Gebiet, das seit der Urgeschichte von Menschen besiedelt wurde und reich an Zeugnissen der etruskischen Epoche ist, die man insbesondere in Sovana bestaunen kann: Hier befindet sich der weitläufige Archäologische Park, in dem man etruskische Grabstätten besuchen kann, darunter das prächtige Ildebranda-Grab, die Tomba della Sirena und die Tomba dei Demoni Alati, auf deren Giebel ein imposanter Meeresdämon thront.
