If you love to take long walks down the river side, you will enjoy the walk to Matter Park. The gardens have lush landscaping and also a play area for kids.

Matter Park has been the pride of Marion since the 1890's. The Gardens of Matter Park would be outstanding for a city of any size, let alone for Marion (population 28,000). It is kept clean, has tennis courts, walking paths, a lake, Frisbee area, concert stage and Christmas light display. In the Summer, local artists display their work, while local musicians perform.

When the weather is nice, Matter Park is a great place for the whole family featuring a wonderful playground for the kids, walking trails, gardens, pickle ball and tennis courts. Also, in November through Christmas time each year you drive or walk through the world famous walkway of lights.

Great park to bring your family for an afternoon of fun. Frisbee golf course and large children's play area make this a great place to visit.
