Fresh is best There’s no better way to finish off a day of swimming in the refreshing, salty beaches of Kingscliff than with dinner at Sea Salt Italian Ristorante. As the name suggests, this restaurant is all about offering freshness on a plate – and it delivers. The menu is classically Italian, full of tasty gems and perfect for sharing. Start off light with some antipasto and the piatto misto: a mix of freshly cooked seafood including prawns, scallops and calamari. Then try one of the glorious pastas (such as the ravioli tartufo, which comes in a velvety butter sauce) or risottos. If you are sticking with the sharing thing, then definitely keep plenty of room for the excellent hand-rolled pizzas, available as either classico (like the ever popular margherita) or gourmet (like the lamb with roasted capsicum, fontina cheese, fresh rocket and red onion salad). If you are looking to try something a bit different, go for one of the ‘white pizzas’, which come without tomato sauce but are topped with delicious options such as potato and truffle cream, or a luxurious mix of four cheeses. Italian pizza, pasta and risotto, with vegetarian, vegan and kids options. Always great food. The huge wood-fired pizza oven and hand-made bases makes delicious pizza, excellent dine in or takeaway.
