One of my favorite spots to walk around and people watch and enjoy the weather outdoors. This is a hidden gem that I've always liked. Worth checking out.

If you really want a taste of the real DC, go here on a Sunday and have a picnic, dance with the drum circles and just enjoy your day.

Great park with a fun drum circle. The drum circle is a 40 year tradition with African dance and more, usually at 3pm on Sundays.

A large park just a few blocks from the Airbnb. Now a local hangout for dog walks and warm-weather picnics, the park used to be an army camp during the Civil War and has a rich history. On good-weather Sundays there is a drum circle in the upper park - starts around 3pm. Earlier on Sundays there are occasional pop-up jazz shows.

The Sunday afternoon drumming circle is ver popular with locals. (Only available during the spring-fall months). Also, you can see the Washington Monument from here.
