If you are down in Port Clyde don’t miss the chance to stop and see this quaint lighthouse made famous in “Forest Gump”.

This is a great day trip…a pretty drive to Port Clyde and a ferry ride. Easy hiking and beautiful views on this historic/artistic Island. And you just might see a whale on the ferry ride… Eat at one of the small local venues on the island or at the pier/general store in Port Clyde when you get back.

Just down the street, the Farnsworth has 20,000 feet of gallery space filled with a nationally recognized collection of art. It houses the largest Wyeth collection in the country as well as many more of America’s greatest artists.
Be sure to visit the other locations, including the Wyeth home site in Cushing…a nice drive and short day-trip down the Cushing peninsula.
