An absolute MUST-DO while in Grindelwald
If you visit during the day for a snack and drink, you will want to come again and again. Most importantly their coffee is delightful and their cakes divine! It seems like a family affair and the team are all polite, friendly and the place has a warm feel to it. The restaurant sits on the pretty Terrassenweg, a quiet road which runs along the ridge above Grindelwald with lovely views of the mountains opposite. They have an outside terrace and a café with lots of character inside. Open from 08.30 am till 06.00 p.m., but on Friday and Saturdays they open late for evening meals and barbecues.

Don’t miss a visit to this family favourite of ours. If you are after a real bar with character then you have to visit AVOCADO ! Great bar, fantastically friendly staff, easy going atmosphere, playing some great music and interesting locals. Alex, the owner is an absolute legend, makes you feel very comfortable and he loves what he does which makes it a better experience. The highlight here is a large beer garden and bar out back, perfect for summer days. You can’t beat having the view of the Eiger Mountain while having a delicious beer. It is simply awesome!
