Food Scene
It's great for kids. You sit at a counter and you meal is brought to you by a model train. Our 2 yo loves it and it's a short 5 min drive away. There are public parking lots near it if you don't find parking on the street.
Wednesdays have been 1/2 price burger night, and the kids mac and cheese is a big hit with our toddler. They are closed on Mondays.

This is our go-to for Chicago-style deep dish pizza delivery. If you get delivery to the coach house, be sure to give them your phone number and be prepared to meet them in the front on Washington Street.

They have the BEST fried chicken around, and is the best restaurant within a 5 min walk. Think soul food, and save room for an a la mode waffle.
They're a big hit with the after church crowd on Sunday morning when we go for brunch. Don't show up then in your PJs. They offer take-out as well.
On Friday and Saturday evenings they generally host jazz nights and after 5 pm, they're BYOB (at least as of the time of writing :).

We like this park for the shaded sand box and the splash pad. There are 2 different age groups of play structures as well. There is an open field for soccer or baseball if you need to burn off more energy
