This is where the Gold Rush started - we love the history. Our daughter and I were docents here while she was still in high school . Our other daughter was married in the old church there. On volunteer work day, we were privileged to dust every surface in the park - the pews in the church, the artifacts in the Chinese store, etc.

The water is turquoise, and the sand is white. We love it so much - it's like Mexico, but the view is mountains and pines! Bring your kayaks - you can paddle around to the cove and explore. But in order to get a parking space, you should arrive by 10 or after 3 in the summer!
