Parks & Nature
If you are looking for a spot in the beach that is quiet and amazing, this is your place ... not much parking space, so it is never crowded ... it does not feel you are in a beach in a big city ... and you will always find people selling drinks & food walking around, so do not need to worry about that. But bring your own chair if you want one, here you cannot find place to rent you one like other parts of Barra da Tijuca beach. The open sea can be a bit rough so watch the locals and don't swim too far from the shore as there are no lifeguards on this beach.

The Cidade das Artes is a great place for concerts, especially when you stay in the neighborhood. Easy access by BRT. Big modern theater (over 1.000 seats) with great acoustics. Worth a visit when there's a good concert!

Sightseeing
It is one of the wonders in Rio. You can get to the top of Corcovado (the mountain where the statue lies) either by train, car or just hiking (it is a long way up....). If it were located somewhere else, the statue of Christ the Redeemer would be just.....a statue. But on top of Corcovado it is something you will never forget. But you should go there in a clear sunny day and you can have a panoramic view of Rio and Guanabara bay. (about 30km, use a premium bus. 2333, until Copacabana - Praca do Lido or Uber. Once there, get a OFFICIAL Van to Corcovado).
