THE place to get pizza in Havelock North. There are some good take away places but this place is worth eating in. Trust me, it's great!

When the strawberries are ripe, get to picking! The ice cream is also fantastic and the veges much cheaper than the supermarket.

Just a stones throw from Te Mata peak, this winery is one of the best. The grounds are worth the trip alone but the food is some of the best in the bay. (can be pricey though) Go for the tasting, it's an amazing place!

Parks & Nature
The views from the top of Te Mata peak are hard to beat and you can drive all the way up! Look down over Craggy Range and the Tuki Tuki river or if you're feeling daring, jump off the top on an organised hang gliding adventure!

A short walk from the house is the Karamu stream. Cut behind the house cafe and be greeted with ducks, pukekos and dog walkers. You can walk into town from here, a loop to the strawberry patch for an ice cream is recommended on hot days!

For a small village it's a great theatre! The sound is better at the one in Hastings but if you sign up to Cinebuzz you get cheap tickets and discounts at Havelock as it's an Event cinema.

Come to Birdwoods to see the old fashioned sweet shop and walk the grounds. Lots of things to see while you chew on those old school sweets!
