Since 2000, Punchdrunk has pioneered a form of theatre in which roaming audiences experience epic storytelling inside sensory theatrical worlds. Highly, highly recommended, Punchdrunk is one of my favourite theatre companies. They can be pricey but they're well worth the price! They are currently performing "The Burnt City", a modern take on Greek mythological stories in the city of Troy. Book in advance for sure and enjoy the show!

Head to Stoke Newington Church Street, a 30min bus ride (No.476) from Bruce Grove station for a sweet village experience in London. Found within the beautiful residential area of Stoke Newington with indie shops, hip global eateries, chic cafes, and bars, Church Street is a great place to spot unique art and eat tasty food. It can be on the pricey side but there are some great spots, The Green Room and Acoustic Brasserie being two of my favourite spots. Be sure to pop into Abney Park Cemetery, one of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ garden cemeteries of London, it is a woodland memorial park and Local Nature Reserve.

Greenwich is located in South London and so requires more travel time than some of the other recommendations listed in my guidebook. It's about a 60minute journey from Tottenham Hale Station but can fill a day with lots of fun sight seeing easily! Visit the Royal Museums of Greenwich including the Cutty Sark Ship made in 1869 and the Royal Observatory, the home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Great Equatorial Telescope.

Kings Cross Station is a 15min tube ride from Tottenham Hale station and is home to a number of great locations. Visit coal drops yard for a shopping destination and a great foodie hotspot. Head to Kings Place for an open, multi-arts venue, presenting an adventurous and critically-acclaimed programme, with words and music at its heart. This place is great for art and live music. For Contemporary dance, The Place Theatre is a short walk from the station. This Theatre is connected to the London Contemporary Dance School and previews work from the top Dance Companies in the world as well as their students. Dalston Eastern Curve Garden is a free-to-enter neighbourhood garden that is open seven days a week, twelve months a year, providing an oasis of plants, connection to nature in the city and a community gathering place for the people of this dynamic part of Hackney. Their beautiful wooden pavilion was constructed by the architectural collective Exyzt and houses their cafe kiosk, comfortable seating and a pizza oven. The Pineapple House is our conservatory style greenhouse which is used for workshops and for keeping cosy by the wood-burning stove in winter. A 30minute train journey from Bruce Grove station.

Señor Ceviche is a Nikkei Peruvian restaurant and Pisco bar based in Soho, London. Find them on the first floor of Kingly Court, a great space to check out regardless, tucked away behind Carnaby Street. Great tasting food and scrummy Pisco sours, not a great restaurant for vegans or vegetarians, we recommend you book ahead in advance.

If it’s your first time in London and you’re looking to explore some of the most famous neighbourhoods of the city, then Covent Garden is easily up there as one of the best. Enjoy a wander through the Apple Market, Neal’s Yard or enjoy a meal or drink at one of the many bars and restaurants located in the area. As Christmas approaches, the decorations and mulled wine are a good excuse to head over. Covent Garden is walking distance from Leicester Square, Southbank Centre and Tottenham Court Road, all of which are great to see as the festive season arrives.
