Car rental is expensive and very very difficult to get last minute. We have a car to loan. Bring copy of car and health insurance. Shop for your Tour company for excursions. Ask your host if they have some special recommendations. Plan ahead! Bus service is cheap and comfortable! Check routes for best times to travel by bus. Taxis available everywhere!

Sodas are not a beverage! Sodas are smaller often Mom and Pop restaurants that serve good substantial fare, beverages. They are everywhere and worthy of attention. Outside Villas Paraiso is Isaga bar restaurant. Good!! Soda Garabito has a buffet style offering great worker, family, budget shopper fair. Tours~ especially on shoulder season, tours will be discounted AND you can always contact a Tour Operator and ask to be added at last minute for a discount. Be polite and kind. Particularly good if you have already done one tour with a company..

Never at the airport! For taxis from airports American dollars are accepted. Try to get your bank to allow you an account with NO transaction fees and use that bankcard at the many ATMs. There is a limit to how much you can withdraw daily. You will get conversion to colons from ATM. Most larger places accept US dollars at bank rate . Use credit cards, often accepted but watch for foreign transaction fees added. Check your Credit card company first..
