The first museum dedicated to the American paratroopers of the D-day Invasion. The Airborne Museum is situated in the centre of Sainte-Mère-Eglise, made famous by the story of the parachutist John Steele who was suspended from the church steeple. The museum gives you an immersive experience giving you a much better understanding of the great sacrifices of the heroes of June 6th 1944. Full of sounds, live footage and even an original D-day WACO glider which is unique in all of Europe.

The Maisy Battery is a group of WW2 artillery batteries constructed in secret by the German Wehrmacht. Located at Grandchamp-Maisy, Normandy. After the battle the American bulldozers covered the battery with earth. It was buried for over 60 years, before being discovered - the 2 miles of German trenches and bunkers are still being unearthed today. They are open to the public.

After the battle the American bulldozers covered the battery with earth. It was buried for over 60 years, before being discovered - the 2 miles of German trenches and bunkers are still being unearthed today. They are open to the public.

This tiny little chapelle is perched 323 meters on a rocky outcrop above the little town of Mortain. Stunning views can be had from the look-out point across the countryside for many kilometers. On a clear day Mont Saint Michel can be seen.
'Hill 314' originally a German military look-out point in 1944 is to be found a 5 min walk away. Today it is a place to remember the many fallen soldiers, who died for their freedom. A memorial monument has been built in front of the Chapelle.
